How important getting things done

Providing a feeling that you have won

Put on your face a big smile

Taking away the ambiguity of life for a while

Engendering a sense of what you can do

Allowing for some pride to be born in you

There’s power control and a special tired too

It chases the “blahs” when you’re feeling blue

To Do list checked off makes you feel good inside

The path that you took can fill you with pride

A couch potato life may be OK for others

Is that what you want for your sisters or brothers

Each day and hour does not seem like much

But added together the total is such

At the end of the month end of the year

What you’ve accomplished gives pause for cheer

The Japanese notion of kaizen says it well

A little each day creates something swell

Don’t think too much don’t cogitate

Get busy and going out of the gate

Do you do your best to fill your days with activity and accomplishment?

How does it make you feel?

Are you pleased with your efficiency in getting things done?

How do you balance efficiency and excellence?

What is more important to you? Why?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.

My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.

My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
