What is this pit this hole in my gut

A wandering mind that wants to give up

Longing to be anywhere else

A futile attempt to escape from myself

Where does it comes from where do you hide

Wondering if there is some good inside

Longing to be stress free quiet peace

Often has me searching for my release

This feeling is always here right within

Sometimes masked well though veneer’s very thin

One thing is certain it’s time to make peace

Other alternative my life must cease

How do you rise up move through the pain

Battle the demons dry out from the rain

Where does strength come from where is the fun

Can I endure without coming undone

The fear within can I make it my friend

I don’t have much choice when it comes again

It’s likely a transient state I am in

No permanent truth rain will go I will win

What are the internal demons you now or in the past battled?

What strategies have you used to get beyond them?

How did you deal with them?

Were you successful?

How did you talk to yourself about what was going on?

When you were gripped did you believe the siege would end?

Knowing what you know now what different strategies or actions might you have taken?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.

My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.

My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
