What gives you comfort keeps you serene

Fosters profound states of your perfect dream

Leads you through doorsteps to your highest ground

Lifts you quite gently then sets you down

Is it about finances or creativity

Is it things familial or your nobility

Is it your children or nature’s bliss

A rich full-bodied cabernet or your lover’s kiss

Awards of high honor recognition or fame

Your face in the paper your name in the game

Is it the doing that quiets you down

Or is it the “being” when no one’s around

All of these questions what do they ask

In your deep inquiry what’s the critical task

The goal’s very clear what you need to know

What fills your heart causes it to overflow

A state of fulfillment lives in your private mind

Search for the tumblers that unlock and find

You will be living from self-generation

Your profound knowing heightens elation

Can you recall the last time you felt a sense of certainty,

of how things worked and how they fit together?

Do you know what generated that state, why it’s important and the value it provides?

Do you think it would be useful to have the capacity to generate the state when you wanted?

What do you need to cultivate?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.

My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.

My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
