Searching

Searching here there everywhere where do answers lie

On the ground under the sea in your own mind’s eye

Looking for answers that you want in some sacred text

When you reach a new plateau do you ask what’s next

Consulting sages beseeching oracles

For answers about what is and was

Planning for next steps on our journey

Consulting mother father priest attorney

When searching and looking to and fro

Back to the mirror knowing it’s time to grow

Wisdom of others pointed clear true

Responsibility still is up to you

Do not fear this burden you have all you need

The still voice inside listen and heed

When today’s searching reaches its end

The person you lie with still your best friend

Marching about on your destiny

Discovering searching is where you’re free

Remember the journey satisfies in life

The gift of seeking freshens your appetite

What kind of searching has informed your destiny?

What have you discovered and what do you hope to know?

Who have been your allies and who has been resisting?

What causes you to stop seeking? What happens when you stop seeking?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers. My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all. My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
