Simplicity

Down in the essence your central core

It’s becoming easy what you are here for

Beneath all the chatter and running about

Lies a quieting simplicity wanting to come out

The work of artists to reduce and refine

Taking a grand epic down to a line

Saying with one brush stroke a few simple lines

What will be enduring for a long long time

Truth is very easy no diverting noise

It comes to the surface when you hold your poise

Forms that are very natural shapes you easily see

Open your clear hearts eye free yourself to be

Everyday pleasures from the grist of life

Therein lies satisfaction with so little strife

You thought it was complex so much to do

Then you get older and wiser too

Eating laughing sunset’s delight

Communion companion makes your life bright

A smile a teardrop a hug says so much

A word of encouragement a wisp of a touch

It can be effortless to know blissful states

Wisdom reminds abundant is your plate

Most of earth’s boundless pleasures are free

Slow down stop trying just love and be

Are you taking enough time to enjoy simple pleasures?

What are the ones that are most enjoyable for you?

Is it possible for you to engage in one simple pleasure every day?

How might that change your life?

Is there any downside?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.

My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.

My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
