Aftermath

Now is the time here in this place

All combatants act from grace

The battle joined action noble

Fighting generates deeper trouble

Breach created push and shove

Can we show what we’re made of

Character true character real

Displays in how you teach and heal

Fierce fight fought to the wire

No real winner no one to retire

Combating through venue changes

Players and thinking rearranges

Can we learn from winter’s long night

Will body politic do better than fight

Energy expended in a silly fray

Surely better spent in a new way

Winner and loser very old frame

Time to play a bigger game

This might be collaboration

As the pulse of a great nation

We have tools technology

To approach real democracy

If we do in this century

Many more will say I’m free

Do you interact with people who have political views different from yours?

What do you learn from them and is there a way to be more curious and empathetic with different people?
