caretaking
Caretaking
What makes you happy in a world gone insane
What forms of knowing lessen your pain
What makes you hopeful amidst conflict and strife
What keeps you from leaving this journey called life
Dear ones I think happy is gone
We left childhood illusions back on the farm
The time we’re devoting to happy’s not cool
Though the word lingers like yesterday’s fool
Happy’s a moment a dot on a line
A smile bursting forth for a moment in time
A place of connection that tickles your heart
A sense of pure knowing conveyed in art
The choice of a mission that makes you whole
Steadfast perseverance for a pure noble goal
Knowing you’re working toward a sweet end
Secure in deep friendship on which you depend
Knowing the real gift is giving and leaving
Engendering laughter fostering believing
Inducing pure joy in the heart mind of others
Voicing concerns of those trapped in druthers
No longer about what you have to do or be
That is the presence of your smaller me
It is about filling up all you can
How do you uplift the family of man
What are the ways you fill others up?
Are there others?
Are your actions guided by the value of contributions you make to others?
Are you maximizing your gifts and the value they provide for others?
What else can you do for dear ones? For others?
