Cleaving
Never easy leaving a lover
Pulling apart from sacred other
Leaving sweet bonds connection brings
Alone again after heart sings
Back to separate illusion of alone
Out from the cocoon shared with a clone
Leaving cleaving and heaving behind
Back to limitations of only one mind
Return to emptier heart space of one
Very familiar not nearly as fun
Focused on who might be next
In the meantime inventing pretext
As if you need reason or rational plan
The longing heart of a woman or man
Joyous unions congeal in our mind
As we leave part of ourselves behind
Empty feeling of a lesser spark
Affirms connection was no simple lark
No more important activity found
Deeply connected in sacred ground
Cherish the love and gifts of communion
Honor the sweet voice that comes from union
Covet with reverence quickening hearts
Enable that presence wherever it starts
Trust the aliveness and joy it brings
Bathe in the beauty that soars over things
Never lose sight of the gift and blessing
Make sure sweet love is part of your questing
As your life wanes one thing you’ll know
Every love flights caused you to grow
At your end one thing you have
Memories of love the sweetest salve
What have you learned from love connections and how has each one contributed to who you are?
How is your life enhanced by love connections and do you give them proper recognition?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
