cleaving

Cleaving

Cleaving
It’s never easy leaving a lover

Pulling apart from a sacred other

Leaving sweet bonds connection brings

Alone again after your heart sings

Back to separate illusion of alone

Out from the cocoon you shared with a clone

Leaving the cleaving and heaving behind

Back to limitations of only one mind

Return to the emptier heart space of one

Very familiar not nearly as fun

Immediately focused on who will be next

In the meantime inventing a pretext

As if you need reason or rational plan

The longings of heart for a woman or man

The joyous reunions congeal in our mind

As we leave a part of ourselves behind

This empty feeling absence of spark

Affirms our connection was no simple lark

No more important activity found

Deeply connected is sacred ground

Cherish and love the gifts of communion

Honor the sweet voice that comes from the union

Covet with reverence quickening hearts

Enable that presence wherever it starts

Trust the aliveness and joy that it brings

Bathe in the beauty that soars over things

Never lose sight of the gift and its blessing

Make sure sweet love is part of your questing

At your noble end one thing you will know

Each of your love flights caused you to grow

And at your end one thing you have

Memories of love to serve as your salve

What have you learned from the love connections in your life?

How has each one contributed to who you are?

Do you have wisdom to pass onto others?

What would that be?

How is your current life enhanced by love connections?

Do you give them proper recognition?
