Complacency

Complacency
What happens to incentive and drive to achieve
When you hit a plateau and your “get up” leaves
How do you stay hungry and pointed true north
When your cyclical malaise creates empty froth

Is it that we choose “south” and say “that where it’s at!”
Is it we can’t help it just happens like that
You must be more vigilant if you want to achieve
Stay active and cogent continue to believe

The world is your oyster if you stay in the game
Remember your talents and what to you is fame
Don’t let your unconscious untrack aspirations
Don’t give up your life to others vibrations

Let attractions pull awaken your precious vision
Always renew them without indecision
Keep forward momentum alive in your brain
Wield a strong umbrella to shield you from rain

When you start to crumble and life beats you down
Do not let situations change your smile to a frown
Keep your eyes True North let it be your guide
Get out strut your stuff do not turn or hide

What moves you to a place of “I don’t care?”
What saps your energy and enables you to forget who you are and what you came here to do?
What do you do when thrown off track?
How do you reclaim your spark?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.

My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.

My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
