Cooperation
We’ve reached a plateau in human evolution
The next rung requires a comprehensive solution
What brought us to this place will not suffice
Changing our thinking that would be nice
If we keep expanding exploiting corrupting
Our ecology will continue disrupting
We need balance and thoughtful direction
It’s time for mindful course correction
As earthlings we generated great invention
As we conquered civility our pretension
We vanquished beasts mastered physical earth
Invented great machines what was it worth
We conquered time and mastered space
Conquering each other our disgrace
We built vehicles of mass destruction
Now it’s time to stop construction
Time to come together exchange deep dialogue
Build sacred relationships heal what is wrong
If we can’t conquer our inner space
Death and destruction for this human race
As you move forward living your life
Stay conscious of choices be a midwife
Make abiding connections with those in your space
Be human in being cooperation your grace
When you make choices about the use of resources do you think about the impact to the earth and to other people?
When you think about the choices your government makes what are the key factors you look at?
How do you support the value of cooperation in your life?
Why do you think cooperation is a very important value?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
