How do you get to the center of your heart
Where you care for self without tearing apart
There’s no simple answer here on this earth
Each day you foster your delivery and birth

Situations life serves teach a great deal
Charting a direction and showing what’s real
Learning from experience points out the way
As you grope for answers in your personal play

The gusto and intensity your life brings forth
Trying this and that drinking from your trough
The glory inside you does not fade away
Though sometimes you’re battered navigating the fray

In the long run we return to godhead
Where pure spirit lives and essence is fed
As you pretend what you have here is real
Remember dream states reflect what you feel

The chances you take and the journey you follow
Could not be more perfect though you think it hollow
The purpose of living’s not material gain
It’s the power of presence learned from pleasure and pain
