Failure’s a perspective that’s all it is
A snapshot in time information to give
An objective measure against a fixed goal
Although you reach it you may not be whole
It takes a view that is short term
The value it holds what can you learn
If you want to get from here to there
The critical lesson for you to be clear
What’s missing for you to do
How can you change your beingness too
Use missed goals as your motivation
Tomorrow’s success your salvation
Failure is only a step on your path
Resist generating a sense of wrath
Develop perspective context too
Let them guide how you’re talking to you
One step then another playing the game
Losing today no sense of shame
One critical failure that is well known
Pick up your marbles and head for home
Failure is not in getting knocked down
Failure is staying down on the ground
When you are low facing a cusp
That is the time to pick yourself up
There is no failure as long as you play
Don’t give up the game and go away
Pick something noble profound with great meaning
Play hard every day let your presence be beaming
What have you learned when you did not achieve a particular goal?
Was it the end of your world?
Did you find the experience motivating?
Did it inspire you?
Are you coming up short now?
What are you going to do or say to yourself?
I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
