fences
Fences
No more time to straddle fences
A failure to act has consequences
Do you turn left do you turn right
Will there be glory or another fight
Playing out scenarios dancing in your brain
Evoking sunny images and some thunderous rain
Life’s dancing ball bounces up then down
Will it leap to the stars or leave you with a frown
Sometimes answers are clear as a bell
Sometimes choices wreaking havoc and hell
How do you know how do you decide
How do you ensure god is on your side
What is your truth what is your best answer
Will you keep plodding or become the dancer
The opportunity’s here not so much where you go
With a cultivated mindset knowledge will grow
In a Zen sense what you do does not matter
The central concern lack of ongoing chatter
Know you are OK no matter direction
Homeward bound to the place of noble intention
How much energy do you spend making sure you make the right decision?
How often do you get it perfect?
What payoff do you get for agonizing?
I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
