The colors are brighter with energy highs
A sense of engagement twinkles in your eyes
The magical time lights fires within
A mystical glow takes over your whim
The reverie settling puts smiles on your face
Compassion and grace for the human race
The longing inside gets quiet serene
The smile on your face sends a bright shining beam
What is it about this time of year
We click our heels and send out good cheer
Why can’t we carry all through the year
The spirit emerging that quells all our fear
The longing subsides we give with great patience
We fill up the cups of friends and relations
Why does it seem such a sad lonely fact
We can’t keep on giving as a permanent act
It really thrills and gives rich delight
Takes us to new places night after night
This year stay conscious hold onto your light
Continue your giving you’ll feel all right
The lesson to learn as you puff out your chest
Feeling real good comes from giving your best
Give to your life’s work your family and friends
When you give with selflessness your joy has no ends
How do you feel when giving to others at this time of year?
What gets in the way of continuing through the rest of the year?
What makes it so hard?
What if you chose to carry this giving spirit well all through the New Year? What would it really cost you?
What would come to you?

I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
