Pain

Pain

Pain comes in many flavors with differing intensity

Some have it easy some have suffering propensity

A deep primal scream buried in the solar plexus

Fills our electric brain as we search for the nexus

The profound anguish running through our core

Is why we’re in a body it’s what we came here for

When we are pure spirit we’re liberated free

Here you have a vehicle demanding constantly

We’re no longer able to dart here and there

Now we are handmaiden to space time and fear

Also we are subject to corporeal pain

Injury disease suffering ordinary stress and strain

Our body is addicted to people and things

We can’t let go of longing at least that’s how it seems

Then one day we wake up say it’s time to let go

I do not want to hang on I just want to grow

That is the precious moment we let go of fear

We find that our dear pain is not very real

Practice to transcend thoughts that do entwine

Home is where you’re headed you’ll be there in no time

How much pain and suffering are you committed to?

Have you ever heard the mantra that suffering is optional?

What if the suffering option was discontinued and no longer available?

How would you fill the time and space?
