Reciprocity

Reciprocity

They birth and hold feed us till contented

Without them we’re helpless our needs undetected

It’s much more than physical what they provide

They instill well-being confidence and pride

The foundation that’s essential to our being

They give us our grounding encourage< our seeing They provide education and finances too They clothe our bodies give each foot a shoe If you are lucky their work does not quit No matter how old you count on their grit They do not abandon responsibility Their deep well of giving helps set you free The cycle reverses at some point in time When you start caretaking stop your own whine You start to observe they are slowing down Their once solid footsteps don’t cover much ground You start giving back to what you took for granted The more that you give the more you’re firmly planted What happens is magic or something like that As you give to them you get much more back They’re still giving lessons just by their being That’s part of the magic of living and seeing The cycle of life a revolving door The giving and taking what you came here for Reciprocity Who parented you and where are you in the cycle? Have you thought about how much or how little you think you received? Do you realize that you may have been given great gifts through adversity? Can you acknowledge that? Is it time for you to give back?
