Solid
Solid
Finally standing on my own two feet
No crying or whining this is quite neat
A sense of recapturing the essence of me
This is what you can get when you’re free
Not longing for someone else to take charge
The less the dependence the more I feel large
As vestiges of life-long fear burn away
Truths dormant inside come out to play
Why did emergence take a long time
Why did many years pass seeking what’s already mine
Why did gestation create such uproar
To get to a place I’ve been before
It seems this journey’s rewards will be many
Including the learning it’s worth every penny
Now I can teach and inspire others
Lighting a path for sisters and brothers
This journey home back to the core
Is not unlike victory in a great war
Battle and struggle and test upon test
It’s never over though you do get some rest
When you’re thrashing and mashing gnarling and crazed
Know it will quiet and you’ll be amazed
All of your straining stressing and shout
Getting rid of your demons getting them out
When they leave you what does remain
Solid black silence and a clear crystal brain
To help and guide hold you and more
To make sure you honor the dream you came for
Have you ever felt you were at the core of your being only to discover that there were more layers to peel?
What did you learn from that experience?
How does that phenomenon inform you about your own journey?
Is it helpful?
I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
