waking
Waking
Suddenly striving and pushing seems crazed
All of a sudden awake from a daze
Wherever my mind was pushing to go
It became clear I already know
No place to get to why not be still
Deep in your center find your strong will
From that place of quiet all will emerge
Clear space is present after the purge
Most of our lives we move frantically about
Demanding expecting ranting with shout
We miss the pure blessing of our sacred being
While crashing through lives without ever seeing
If we are lucky smart and aware
We come to realize we’re already there
No place to go to no mountain to climb
Relax slide into your next sacred rhyme
Stay centered and clear within your sphere
Sacred wisdom will get you to your next there
Bask in the reverie of your arrival
Nowhere to go nothing to strive for
Be pure and simple friends to the flowers
Be gentle and steadfast hours upon hours
Be confident radiant receiving and clean
Enjoy the pleasures of your magnificent dream
What have you been striving for?
What if you were already there and had all you need?
What if your future was already taken care of?
What if you could just be a human “being?”
How would your life be different?
I have always been a seeker, always looking for the answers to what seekers ponder. I can remember Dr. Maxwell Maltz and Psychocybernetics; Dr. Carl Rogers On Becoming a Person. Moving through my legal training and practicing law the focus was always about people and how to better their lives. All that searching, reading, studying and introspective work culminated in this collection of daily readings for seekers.
My work in the world has progressed from fighting legal cases to mediating divorces to helping people understand the essentials of relationship and collaborating to these poems. How can we collaborate effectively and work with each other in harmony to create the world we seek. How can we mindfully enable this world to become a place that works for all.
My prayer is that through introspection using these poems as a guide we can all grow together in making the world the Heaven on Earth we all aspire toward.
